Healthy green smoothie

Green smoothies are in vogue at the moment but they often contain too much sugar when you buy them ready-made. This version is not quite sugar-free – it contains an apple – but compared to a bought-one, it’s virginal! Rinse all the ingredients before use. Try to find organic ingredients if you can.


1 small bunch coriander
Handful of fresh baby spinach or purslane (if you can find it)
Small bunch mint leaves
Half a bunch of parsley
One celery stick
One red or green apple, preferably organic, seeds and stems removed
150mls fresh natural probiotic yoghurt or milk kefir


1. Whizz all the ingredients in a blender, adding a little milk or cold water to loosen it if necessary. You may need to do it in 2 batches depending on the size of your blender.
